Twenty Minute Pillowcase Dress

This is the easiest dress ever and takes only ten to twenty minutes from cutout to finish!  Even though it is called the pillowcase dress, I actually made this one from a remnant I had.  I plan on donating a dress like this dress to the Little Dresses for Africa Charity.  Here is a  link  to their website. This dress is cut to fit a size 2 ( a child about 2 years old).  I cut a rectangle 19 by 21 (21 being the length).  The pattern on the website is made from an actual pillowcase and does not cut out the armholes, just leaves an unstitched area at the top of each side seam to fold under and stitch for the arm area,( here is a link  to the directions for the dress using a pillowcase on the website) I personally do not like the looks of that style, so I cut a wedge about 31/2 inches across at the top and angling down to nothing to the side ( about 4 or 5 inches long).  I just eyeballed it, no particular measurements. Happy Halloween and Meet Me On Monday!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween.  I probably won't have many trick or treaters as no one in my neighborhood seems to celebrate Halloween.  Most do not  have a jack-o-lantern or even turn on their porch lights! All my grands live in a different city so I won't get to see them either, but I will get lots of photos of them from my kids!  Some of those photos have already started and I am going to share those with you, I come from a very... talented family! This is my little Granddaughter Hanne. She is a really cute and scary witch! This is my wonderful daughter-in-law Christa, dressed up as Marie Antoinette. She is rather beautiful all bloody and what not! Love her! This is my niece Brandy dressed in my sister's prom dress from 1964! She is a Prom Queen Zombie! I told you my family was..uhh..talented! Pillow Talk and The Week in Review

Sunday, 11-6-11 This week has been an awesome week. On a personal note, I was able to finally download all the music and videos I had on my Ipod Nano 3rd generation to my new Ipod Touch. I have to say that this is something I have been working on for weeks, but last night a light bulb went off and I realized it had been right in front of me all the time! Oh well! Halloween went a lot better this year, I had 3 spooky visitors.  When compared to last year, that is 3 times more! I also had an awesome invitation from Michelle over at  Heartfelt Balance / Handmade Life  to be the featured blogger on her  Sit and Relax Weekend Hop !  I am so very happy and excited about this and would like to publicly thank Michelle for this honor!  Sure hope everyone will visit her blog and check out the hop which will go live at 10 pm on Thursday (11-10-11).
