Sewing For My Baby Girl
I am getting so excited about the new grandbaby that is coming in June! She is going to be such a wonderful addition to our family and a long awaited extension of my son! I can't wait to see her beautiful little face!
I have ordered some patterns to start sewing for her. There are so many patterns to choose from, but I love Kwik Sew patterns and I found four that I just had to have! The Butterick and Mccalls patterns web site now carries Kwik Sew patterns and if you join the BMV club you get 15% off all patterns even if they are on sale!

I found this darling baby girl outfit. It is perfect for a summer baby. I can't wait to get started on it! It is sized from 0-3 months all the way up to 18 months and all sizes are encluded! I think that is a great bargain! I can just see little Harper wearing it now! Well, guess I better pick out some fabric first, but I will have it ready and waiting on her when she does get here! LOL

I chose two blanket patterns, neither really for the blanket, but more for the bear and doll that are included.

This pattern has the bear-blanket. I just love that little blanket, I hope it turns out as cute as it is in my mental image. Sometimes that isn't the case, so I will just try my best and see. I have never made any kind of stuffed animal. (well I did try to make a Care Bear out of some fake fur fabric many years ago and it ended up in the garbage. I thought I had ruined my machine forever with all the fuzz!) Hopefully this project will have better results!

This pattern has some really cute bibs that come with some darling appliques. The blanket is really cute too, but that little babydoll just called Nana when I was looking at patterns. Harper needs that babydoll! LOL
Well as you can see I have my sewing cut out for me!(no pun intended) I am off to check out fabric! I wish I had a fabric store around the corner that I could run off to and spend hours looking and feeling of fabric, but those were the good old days, most of my fabric is now purchased online. Sew off I go to find the perfect fabrics!
Happy Sewing!

I'd like to try to quilt a small baby blanket, but has never tried quilting before. Is it a good project for a new beginner? Otherwise i was going to stick to what i know and just embroider some wall art for them.
I think the bib ideas are cool too, maybe i shall attempt that!
