Party for Saturday 8-6-11

I have several things to celebrate today and as usual it is party time at Glo Sews!

This is my last weekend before school starts here in my little area of Tennessee and I intend to celebrate my last few days of total freedom!  I am usually happy when this time of year rolls around but this year, not so much!  I didn't get around to a lot of the things I had planned on doing and now I find I simply don't have time.  Well I guess there is always next summer!



This weekend I am not going to sit and beat myself up for not meeting all the expectations I had for the summer, instead I am going to embrace the last few days I have (first day of school is Wednesday 8-10-11) and get my mind geared up for the school year ahead.

Don't feel bad about your summer - you did the best you could - relaxing and enjoying yourself no matter where you are is truly the important part - (I have a beachy blog with beachy photos so maybe that will help give you a mental escape!)

Yes,summer has come and gone but fall break will be here before we know it,and I`m sure we will be ready for it.Don`t let work get you down it is just the place we go to get a pay check it`s not our real life,lol At least it is a short week for you! And a wonderful event to kick off the weekend is very near!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween.  I probably won't have many trick or treaters as no one in my neighborhood seems to celebrate Halloween.  Most do not  have a jack-o-lantern or even turn on their porch lights! Pillow Talk and The Week in Review

Sunday, 11-6-11 This week has been an awesome week. On a personal note, I was able to finally download all the music and videos I had on my Ipod Nano 3rd generation to my new Ipod Touch. I have to say that this is something I have been working on for weeks, but last night a light bulb went off and I realized it had been right in front of me all the time! Oh well! Halloween went a lot better this year, I had 3 spooky visitors.  When compared to last year, that is 3 times more! I also had an awesome invitation from Michelle over at  Heartfelt Balance / Handmade Life  to be the featured blogger on her  Sit and Relax Weekend Hop !  I am so very happy and excited about this and would like to publicly thank Michelle for this honor!  Sure hope everyone will visit her blog and check out the hop which will go live at 10 pm on Thursday (11-10-11). Quilts For Kids

Quilts For Kids : I was watching Sewing With Nancy last week and she featured this charity,  Quilts For Kids . It is a charity that seeks volunteers to make and donate quilts to children with a serious illness or that suffer from abuse.   I think this is such a wonderful idea, and can't wait to get started on a quilt to donate.  I can't think of a better thing to do this holiday season then to donate a hand made quilt that will give comfort over and over again to a child in need.  I hope everyone will check out this website and think about donating a quilt.  They will even send you a free kit!  How can anyone say no to that!
