Saturday Sewing Party at my blog...BYOB



I am so excited that it is Saturday!  I have had a long and extremely tiring week and I am ready to get my house cleaned up and head to my sewing room!  I have several projects either already in progress or waiting patiently to be in progress!



First and foremost for the day will be cutting out my pattern pieces and pressing them for the Simplicity Sew A Long that I am participating in on Facebook.  I have already prepared my fabric so it is just lying there waiting for me to start making something out of it!  You can follow along and read about my progress here.  This is the pattern I am using in the sew a long. I am itching to start the stitching!

Next I am also sewing in a sew a long about fitting trousers.  http://www.fashionsewingblog.com/   It started Wednesday August the 17th, so I am a little behind and hope to get the pattern cut out and fitted this weekend!  This is the pattern I am using and I love the strait leg view.  Usually if I get a pattern to fit in the waist and it is huge in the hips and legs (yes, in proportion to the rest of my body, my waist is huge!!).  I used to know exactly what to do to my patterns but that was years and pounds ago!  Looking forward to this one and making a great fitting and looking pair of pants!

And last but not least I can't wait to start on this darling backpack pattern I purchased from
http://www.chriswdesigns.com/.  It is so cute and I know several little girls that would just die to own one!   So I am going to do my best to give them all one!
So...I need to get off of here ASAP and get my butt in gear!  Hope you all have a great Saturday and weekend in general!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween.  I probably won't have many trick or treaters as no one in my neighborhood seems to celebrate Halloween.  Most do not  have a jack-o-lantern or even turn on their porch lights! Pillow Talk and The Week in Review

Sunday, 11-6-11 This week has been an awesome week. On a personal note, I was able to finally download all the music and videos I had on my Ipod Nano 3rd generation to my new Ipod Touch. I have to say that this is something I have been working on for weeks, but last night a light bulb went off and I realized it had been right in front of me all the time! Oh well! Halloween went a lot better this year, I had 3 spooky visitors.  When compared to last year, that is 3 times more! I also had an awesome invitation from Michelle over at  Heartfelt Balance / Handmade Life  to be the featured blogger on her  Sit and Relax Weekend Hop !  I am so very happy and excited about this and would like to publicly thank Michelle for this honor!  Sure hope everyone will visit her blog and check out the hop which will go live at 10 pm on Thursday (11-10-11). Quilts For Kids

Quilts For Kids : I was watching Sewing With Nancy last week and she featured this charity,  Quilts For Kids . It is a charity that seeks volunteers to make and donate quilts to children with a serious illness or that suffer from abuse.   I think this is such a wonderful idea, and can't wait to get started on a quilt to donate.  I can't think of a better thing to do this holiday season then to donate a hand made quilt that will give comfort over and over again to a child in need.  I hope everyone will check out this website and think about donating a quilt.  They will even send you a free kit!  How can anyone say no to that!
